Hey,

after I fucked up my first drone project, I took some time to educate myself. Now I want to give it another try and I think the parts will work together. I would be very happy if someone more experienced could confirm that quickly.

The first time I messed up one or more motors / escs. Not sure about what happened exactly.

Following are the parts I reordered, I still have a flightcontroller, power distribution board and rc sender.

Yeah definitely dont want those esc's that are old technology. Same with that battery, its huge and probably will weight just as much as your entire drone or more. 1300 - 1600mah battery is what's perferred for a 5" mini quad.
 
uff.. alright thanks for the feedback, yeah when I got the battery I was shocked about it's size.

My assumption was that the 4 motors will require up to 92A (4x23A) and that the battery needs to be able to supply that 100A-150A (5000mAh x 20-30c). It seems like I didn't understand that correctly.

Can you quickly explain how the current of the battery, escs and motor relate to each other or recommend a resource to read about it?

And my previous motor had different spinning directions, whereas these all seem to spin in the same direction if Im not mistaken?
 
Hey, Shabba. There really is no quick explanation of the relationship between the battery/ ESCs/ motors, because of the complicated process of the circuitry run on a quad. Depending on the way you fly your quad will also determine how fast you discharge a battery. If you want an in-depth explanation of how that stuff works, I suggest to Google on Oscar Liang. He explains these things in great detail.

As for motors, quads usually have 2 different spinning directions - 1 pair in CW (clockwise) direction and the other pair in CCW (counter-clockwise), to balance the torques created by rotations of the motors. Props spin inwards toward the body of the drone (from either the front or rear perspective). Hope that helps!

BTW, I like using 2200mah batteries cause their full charge lasts a little longer. They might be a bit bulkier and on the heavy side, but that is a compromise. But that battery you have is a bit much. Your quad will have a struggle just lifting off and staying in the air. And if you ever lose power while flying, your quad will drop with a higher force and cause quite a bit of damage.
