So I just finished my first plane build, my second plane overall. Should be maidening it today. Im actually starting to find planes more fun than my quads. Their movement is a lot more... fluid, and the electronics portion of it is way easier. Anyone else flying fixed wings?

I dont fly nearly as much, but I built my ZMR for 250 and have only bought a couple more props and super cheap fpv gear since.

So i am trying to set up OSD with my fpv gear. I am using the eagle tress microvector, and cant seem to get it to work. Both my camera and transmitter are working, and something is transmitting, but its just a blank black screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Voltage going to the camera...

Quads like these are usually pretty durable!(dont ask how I know:)). If youre flying manual on the p1, then youll probably be fine. They are faster though.

well, finished is arbitrary. I still need to tune it and whatnot, but it does work! And it was so much fun! I would highly recommend building one. You learn how your machine works so much more then when buying it. And it's not that hard. I'm awful at soldering, and it's not the cleanest build...

With all due respect, I think building is the best way to do things. You know your bird inside and out, and its a lot of fun! But as far as RTF goes here are some of my recommendations, just based on what some friends like, and what has gotten good reviews...

Yeah for sure! There is a lot of mixed information out there. That being said, I know a lot of people like the eachine racer 250/eachine falcon 250. Good luck with whatever you end up getting!

Not sure as to what firmware you should use, but you could try tuning your PID values. Here's a great explanation of how that works. How to Tune a Quadcopter: The Simple Way to Tune

If Your VTx is certified by the FCC then you don't need a HAM. Not many are, so otherwise you need to get a HAM license. Also flight times depend on weight, whether your battery is 3s or 4s, proppelors, etc.
