Forgive me if this is too off topic, but I found this video fascinating. It details one of the largest non nuclear bombs ever created, and how this massive bomb utilized the Magnus effect to increase its range and accuracy. It's purpose: destroy dams.

Yeah great movie and I’ve seen an old B & W documentary on how they developed the prototypes using of all things, an effect discovered by a German physicist.... being a German native, I find that both amusing and ironic.
