I built a 140 frame quad. It has Readytosky KV 3100 motors on it, with iFlight SucceX Mini F4 V2 35A with VTX Flight Tower Stack. I want to get 3S to start with and move up to 4S. I'm not sure which battery name to get and capacity to get. I know the LED is over kill, I'm waiting for my smaller one to come in

It may take a little messing around to see what you like. I think those motors are aimed at 4s, so she might be a little piggy on 3s. You'll probably end up between 500 and 850 mah. Don't get any battery rated below 65c

Be mindful of the connector. That looks like an xt60, (kinda hard to tell) and a lot of the 3s batteries in the size you want will come with an xt30 style connector. You can find them with an xt60 for sure, you just want to be aware of it.

Too big is subjective. It'll fly, but it's going to be more and more like a bumblebee the heavier you get. A 1000 would fly just fine, but I like em lighter myself. 850 4s (no gopro) was my sweet spot. That's what I learned to really fly on.

thank you for the info. do you mind can I see a picture of your setup?

1408 @ 2300 kv is built for 6s, I'm running it on 5s because I can't find a proper 6s that's small enough. Very different from the setup you have now. This is the same frame I learned on, but I was running 1408 @ 3600kv for 4s. I did put the gopro on that one too, but not very often.
Also, I'm a freak that top mounts everything :)

These are HQ 3x3x3, not what I would recommend for you. My fave props for 4s 3inch are the Gemfan 3052, but that's just me

They'll be okay, but you're a little under kv, so something more aggressive is going to lower your hover rate. At this point though I have to reiterate that the feel is very subjective. Props are cheap, so try a few out. It can make a huge difference in the flight feel

yes, that's true. I have a couple kinds on order but they are on backorder
