Does anyone know if any of the ESC manufacturers have open hardware / software?
I know about many motor controller opensource projects out there but I am curious if any of the manufacturers have embraced them.

If not, would anyone have any interest in such a thing?

Some of the 16mm 4in1 ESCs and FCs are open source hardware, the pepperfish ones. BLHeli and BLHeli_S are open source firmware (BLHeli_32 is not).

Lots of the blheli stuff is assembly. I'm thinking about something DSP based. I might start something up. I think separating the FETs and controller makes sense to. FETs are what fail and it would be nice to have them easily replaced.
