Newbie here (kinda) with a radio question

I've been flying a drone for a few years now and I'm looking to get into fpv freestyle. In my brief research, the frSky x7 is the way to go. But I like the compactness of the frSky Taranis xLite. My question is, is this a downgrade in capabilities? Or do the share the same capabilities? Anyone use this radio?

I see two differences. X7 has a battery charging port where I think you have to remove the battery to charge for the lite. PITA.... but the lite has better stick gimbles maybe?
To each his own but Id save the gaming controller design for playing Halo and go with the X7.
