20170323_001319.jpg Received the iFlight ix5 i ordered last week, came in at 8:30. Will have to put camera and vtx on tomorrow after work altho its hard to stop...lol, gettin late20170322_223337.jpg 20170322_232515.jpg 20170322_233650.jpg man this things tiny compaired to my x210, should be fast. Under the hood:
2205 2500kv motors
Blheli 20 amp esc's
Spracing f3 evo (clone) flight controller
Orange dsm2 ppm receiver
Foxeer arrow 1177 camera
Diatone 25/200 mw vtx

My x210 has 20 amp esc's and 2300kv motors and it's heavier, larger and really fast. This things gonna zoom! Can't wait to get it airborn20170323_001319.jpg 20170323_001319.jpg 20170322_223337.jpg

They're made by ipower, was a kit from iFlight. The flight controller is crap, but everything else is good,20170323_205126.jpg the motors ****-***

20170323_223308.jpg Ordered another rjx spracing f3evo fc, already have one in my x210 and love it. The tune out of the box is money. Just mocked up camera and etc., will finish build mid week when fc comes in. The spracing fc clone that came with this kit sux. Flew good enough to tell these motors are insane but heated up quickly. Couldn't tune it (roll p pid started oscilating around 50). Having to use the two hole case (the four hole mounts too high for top plate) with the camera. I dont see well and most of my crashes come when i los, so this ones fpv only and ill use my x210 as a beater.

Done! The rjx spracing f3evo pdb and fc are the only combo I'll use from now on. It's so easy and like butter out of the box. 20170330_115833.jpg This quad is insane! Bought some 1300 mah 3s pacs for this one. My piloting skills are below this things ability...lol. This thing is way too fast for the 4s pacs I have l. Can't wait for this weekend.20170330_115757.jpg 20170330_115833.jpg 20170330_115757.jpg 20170330_115833.jpg 20170330_115757.jpg

does the frame have any legs? Always thought about building a quad with the battery hanging below...but doesn't it damage the battery on a crash?

No legs. The frame does come with a battery protector though although I don't use it I have scratched my batteries up a little but never damaged one. in the worst crashes the battery flies loose and unplugged itself. Got my new antennas and by the way much smaller

My next, next victim
Using parts from my ix5 I broke an arm on a few days ago. Had to increase the slot size for the battery strap as it was too narrow.

Side by side with my x210
Parts are xs210 frame, emax rs2205s 2300kv motors, little bee 30a esc's, raceflight revolt fc, runcam owl plus camera, akk switchable vtx and matek pdb.

Love that frame. Is it the banggood one?
yes, think i paid $20 for it. the edges are all beveled and a 4mm bottom plate.only issue i have with it is the battery strap slot and i fixed that already. one of my rs2205s motors was bad, the replacement i ordered will be here Tuesday.

Virtue,

Should be cool! I have a few QAV-X style frames coming. The first thing I'm going to do is round the edges where the battery strap goes through the frame. That seems to be the place where my battery straps break.

Good luck!

Great idea, I sand and or file my whole frames edges, especially where a battery or camera strap goes

Ok, done. Swapped pdb out and gave it a maiden flight out back between showers. It flies great! Can't wait till the rain moves out so I can burn some paks through this thing.

Hi Virtue,
That looks like a stretch frame which one? What actual flying characteristics does it have over a x frame

Keith

its the relacc xs210, suposed to be easier to fly low and it seemed true for the one pak ive gotten to fly so far, will let ya know more when i get some more paks through it

took 4 100c paks to work in the hopes of getting to fly on the way home from work........flew all of them, should have taken more. didnt get any video as my nephew borrowed my cube for a couple days (1st child born today, beautiful little girl). it flies awesome and is indeed very easy to fly low. i now see why the stretch frame is so popular with racers. i hope its flies the same with the addition of my cube
