can you make litlle adaptors from metal and just bolt it? maybe like from washers or something. or maybe use some epoxy glue on the posts/ bolt sides there and glue it that way? will be hard to remove tho...

What's the best way to protect the antenna?

or there's this...

w/ antenna exiting out the back.

which would y'all pick and if the camera mounted route, what about that antenna protection?

Would these work? They sell a bunch on eBay. About $10 for a kit with set of standoffs & nuts.

actually my post was incorrect. its this one.. 2pin to power and ground from the FC.
but I'll order those Neo as Ill probably need it on the 3" rebuild. thanks for the link!
also, the big single pin is best i have to get the green wire to a uart on the FC.
I wonder if I should try combining the 2pin +/gnd and uart green into a three pin on both sides?1546709648635239640880026711129.jpg

until I get a conntector to mount the vtx to the camera, I'm going with the plate idea for now.
I had to dremel it a bit around the plugs but this should work. 15467162978358988625601602509681.jpg

the link to the plate was key

ok, its mounted and powers up with the rest of it. time to start tuning. thanks for the input everyone!! Ill be using alot of what was mentioned here on that 3"
rebuild.

also, what if I drilled a tight angled hole in the red hood to stick the antenna through? how much of this antenna needs to be sticking out?

One open questions to the group that may help others reading. how much antenna has to stick out to be effective running 200mw and inside 100yards?

Depending on trees and obstacles, none at all really. If it fits in the canopy give it a try, I bet it'll work.
Having most of it out and oriented vertically is supposed to help, but I'm not sure if I've seen much difference in my own builds.

Im not hopefull, especially when facing towards me.
there's a mohawk version of the Cerberus micro hood made specifically to hide and protect an antenna out the top. I may look more into that.
