Well I am now flying and all is good, apart from my piloting skills. The answer was very simple. Set the country code to the US and units to Imperial. Then read the instructions properly on how to bind and all was good. Thanks to all who tried to help.

I would first of all think about how you will locate your aircraft should it go missing again. Have you got a buzzer in your plans, or a gps locator as well as a camera? They will take some money out of your budget so there will be less to spend in the craft, but I think will be worth it. Also...

Ok, so I have downloaded the new BF and run that on my Mac. Kept the old one coz I do things like that. Cannot find the CLI as it needs to update the firmware on the machine first I think. Connecting to the quad shows the one to use is NAZE. I believe that is the one I should use.
