Thanks Danny, I did that but then the Hoverbot Nano came back in stock so I went that direction.

So today I ordered a tiny whoop style racer to help me make the transition to acro flying. Wound up ordering the Hoverbot Nano FPV kit which just went on sale for $199 here: HoverBot Nano - First Person View Kit I think I'll put some time in on this guy before I even put the QAV-X together...

At first I was very glad I saw this thread because it pointed me to the NewBeeDrone which looks like a good indoor trainer...but then I saw they everything on their website is out of stock and now I'm sad. Dammit.

It may not be the same as the real thing, but I literally took my Taranis out of the box, plugged it in, and started flying the sim. No setting adjustments were required.

I'm using Liftoff mostly so far, but also have Freerider. It'll probably take me a couple weeks to get around to building my QAV-X so hopefully that'll give me enough time to learn the basics via the sim.

So I got a couple different simulators running today and hooked up my transmitter. Holy moly, this is such a different animal than the DJI types that I've been flying. The learning curve is gonna be steep.

Thanks for the suggestions on the goggles. I ordered the Eachine VR D2s from bang good at $80. There were so many options that my eyes were going blurry reading about them all so it came down to a coin flip.

Those EV800 may be a better option for me since I do plan to upgrade fairly quickly. Looks like they are $80 on banggood right now. Is there anything else in that price range that you'd consider for what would quickly become a back-up pair?

I have a related question. I just ordered a FrSky Taranis Plus and was wondering if it'll be ready to plug into the PC right out of the box to use with a sim. Or do i need to buy some sort of cable separately? Thanks.
